Sub-genre: Supernatural

Series: Mara Dyer #2

Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past.

She can’t.

She used to think her problems were all in her head.

They aren’t.

She couldn’t imagine that after everything she’s been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets.

She’s wrong.

Can you imagine your family and everyone around you thinking that you’re losing your mind? They think you sound crazy enough to try to commit you to a mental institution…just because you think your ex-boyfriend, who should be dead, is still alive and stalking you?

What do you do? If you’re lucky, you have someone like Noah on your side.

This story is compelling, confusing, enlightening, infuriating, terrifying, and completely worth the emotional roller-coaster. If you’re looking for a sequel that defies the second book slump, this is your book. It is difficult to review this book without giving too much away, but the essence of this story is hard to pigeonhole into one YA sub-genre. I would be doing Hodkin’s readers a great injustice by giving away any spoilers with this review, so suffice it to say that I absolutely plan on re-reading The Unbecoming and this, especially before the next installment is released.
